Years later, the
tradition of sharing these Texas delicacies was kept alive and well by Paul
Brandt. Turkeys ranged on his 285-acre ranch near Azle known as Ranch Oak Farm.
Brandt began sharing his delicious smoked birds with friends and business
associates. By 1941, word-of-mouth and demand for the hickory smoked turkeys had
spread like Texas wildfire, and Brandt turned his hobby into a business. He
eventually sold the business in the 1950's, but remains one of thousands of
customers who enjoy Ranch Oak Farm smoked turkeys year-round.
New at the helm in 1979, Tom and Carol Misfeldt were guardians of a business
with a rich heritage. At that time, Ranch Oak Farm was both a retail and
mail-order enterprise offering not only the signature smoked turkey, but also
briskets, hams and other smoked meats -- all smoked and baked with original
recipes. Over the
years, the Misfeldts shifted the focus of the business from retail to mail order
and expanded the product line to include an array of traditional gourmet
delicacies. Through its catalog, Ranch Oak
Farm offers shoppers a "taste of home," with products that appeal to one's
appetite for mouthwatering, down-home goodness. People all across the country
have embraced Ranch Oak Farm, and rely on it to deliver a delicious selection of
the highest-quality smoked meats, cheeses and condiments available.alk about
great gifts!
You can never go wrong with a gift from Ranch Oak Farm—and it shows what great
taste
you have. For your company’s customers and employees, there’s nothing better,
easier for
you, or more appreciated. For family and friends, no worries about whether Uncle
Herbert still wears knee-length knit socks or arguing about whether Aunt Susie
still fits into a size 18 (you wouldn’t dare ask). In these busy, stressful
times, employees, customers, family and friends all respond to an expression of
thoughtfulness. Perhaps it’s a gift they always look forward to receiving;
perhaps it comes unexpectedly—a welcome surprise. You can always get a “plain
old” ham or turkey at the grocery store—but providing truly memorable food and
superior service is Ranch Oak Farm’s mission in life. We will personally see
that your orders are carefully filled and shipped to arrive for the holidays to
those people who are special to you.
All the best,
The Misfeldts,
Tom and Carol, Clay, Craig, Wendy and Ethan
