Our story started 80 plus years ago with one man's hobby. Our founder, Paul Brandt, is well-known for Ranch Oak furniture, introduced in the late 1930s. Styles for every room, known for quality and durability were manufactured in Fort Worth, Texas through the 1980s.
But when Paul wasn't guiding his huge furniture manufacturing company, he was sometimes smoking turkeys in his backyard smokehouse, a hobby that made him popular with his friends, neighbors, and relatives for the delicious results!
Turkeys ranged on his 285-acre ranch near Azle known as Ranch Oak Farm. Brandt began sharing his delicious smoked birds with friends and business associates. By 1941, word-of-mouth and demand for the hickory smoked turkeys had spread like Texas wildfire, and Brandt turned his hobby into a business. In 1941, Paul incorporated Ranch Oak Farm and built a second business in fine smoked turkeys. Paul sold Ranch Oak Farm in 1952 with the assurance that his legacy of top quality would continue.
Today our business has shifted its primary focus to producing fine smokehouse meats and shipping them nationwide.
We continue to operate a retail outlet store open to the public at the holidays. Click here for information on our outlet store.
Owned by the Misfeldt family since 1979, we continue his tradition of excellence ensuring happy customers with our expanded selection of fine smoked meats and specialty gourmet food items. We think it's the way Paul would have wanted it. In fact, he continued to be our happy customer each Christmas until his passing, purchasing smoked turkeys for his friends and loved ones! The Misfeldts
